Karachi, Pakistan (Oppression.org) -- Last month, we reported on a Taliban ambush on a young girl, Mehzar Zehra (13) and her father Nazar Abbas. The attack happened while the father was picking his daughter up from school. They were shot at point blank range. Abbas died immediately while Zehra is in critical condition. Dubbed the Malala of Karachi, Zehra needs our help.

One of the bullets shattered part of her vertebrae affecting her mobility. The other bullet is lodged near her lung making it difficult to operate. Because of the nature of her injuries there is a good chance she may not survive. Doctors are advising she be treated outside of Pakistan because they are unable to facilitate the operation in Pakistan.

The Oppression.org team has been asked to plea her case in the public in hopes that she can receive treatment in the United States or the UK.

Please contact us if you can offer any assistance.

Indepth Reports on Sectarian Violence

While the world was silent, Oppression.org was the first media outlet on the internet to document and report on sectarian violence being carried out in Pakistan and Afghanistan:

1996-1998

While the media was played mute and dumb, Oppression.org brought the plight of the Shia's of Bahrain out in the open years before the Arab Spring. When Saddam and Bill Clinton were bombing the Shias in Southern Iraq, it was Oppression.org that broke the news:

Oppression.org will launching a new website specifically to address the plight of the Shi'i of Pakistan. In the days and weeks to come, we will unveil plans to not only feed and educate the widows and orphans but ways to protect them.

List of innocent Shi'a martyrs*

* This list is far from comprehensive but Oppression.org team will continue to strive, build and edit it. If you are interested in volunteering please contact us.

Update 1: Operation Solace is underway. Oppression.org team is enroute and will be meeting with local charity and welfare organizations in an undisclosed location due to security concerns. Follow #OperationSolace for the latest status.

Ten thousand (10,000) and twenty (20) are just two sets of numbers that may not mean much but these numbers have a huge significance to the Shi'a population of Pakistan. An estimated 10,000 Shi'a have been killed in Pakistan in the past 20 years. Of those killed, 200 have been doctors and those that were spared were forced to leave the country. It has become too common of a sight for mothers to bury their sons, wives to lay their husbands to rest, and children to weep over the loss of their beloved fathers. The world has been silent and suppressing the pleas of the surviving victims.

Last week, Oppression.org became aware of 25 families who lost their sole breadwinner and are in dire need of assistance. Working with local charities and welfare organizations, Oppression.org will be sending a delegation to Pakistan to profile and document the situation of these families and provide immediate relief. The other goal of the delegation would be to work with local organizations to educate and train the surviving families -- moving them towards a life of independence.

The delegation will depart shortly; those of you interested in being part of this mission have only 5 days to donate. All of your donations are tax-deductible. Every cent of the donations collected will be used to provide immediate relief to the families. Similar to our mission to Haiti, helping the Shi'a community, Oppression.org will document all of interactions.

Please do not
hesitate and Donate Today.

We have just a few days as all donations MUST be received by October 31, 2012. Please distribute this email to your friends and family.

Imana Pakistan Flood relief 166

Couple of weeks ago we had emailed many of you telling you about an opportunity that had come our way to help the people of Pakistan. A close friend, Dr. Faiz Khan, was heading to Pakistan to help with the relief efforts. As with other campaigns on Oppression.org the community was asked to act fast if they wanted to help. Many did not hesitate and donated to the effort. We urge everyone to stare deep into the eyes of these children and truly ask yourself--have I done enough?
