Sarah Palin and Fox News are having heart palpitations after hearing that Mrs. Obama invited the poet "Common" to Whitehouse for "An Evening of Poetry." But why? This hardcore gangsta rapper (sarcasm intended) wrote a poem about the civil rights activists, Assata Shakur, who's now living in assylum in Cuba.
Assata Shakur is an African-American activist and was a member of the Black Panther Party (BPP) and Black Liberation Army (BLA). Between 1971 and 1973, Shakur was accused of several crimes, of which she would never be charged, and made the subject of a multi-state manhunt. Yes, a manhunt. In 2005 (thanks to the Patriot Act) she classified as a "domestic terrorist."
Domestic terrorist? How is domestic terrorism when your defending your neighborhoods from the CIA and FBI who are introducing drugs and assassinating and arresting your leaders?

Do yourself a favor and read about Assata Shakur and the oppressive treatment she had to endure--can you believe they put this woman in prison in a ALL MALE facility? She had no choice but to escape.

It would be great if you can have article about the introduction of crack in black neighborhoods. I would like to see some investigative reporting...
